Bob Genter

President, Defense and Civilian Sector

 

Bob S. Genter is president of the Defense and Civilian Sector of SAIC. With annual revenues of $6.9 billion and approximately 24,000 employees, SAIC provides engineering, digital, artificial intelligence and mission solutions across the defense, space, civilian and intelligence markets.

SAIC’s Defense and Civilian Sector encompasses the company’s defense, and civilian, business, including state and local, healthcare, and commercial customers. Genter is responsible for leading the sector’s growth strategy, business development, and service delivery and execution. The Defense and Civilian Sector represents $4.8 billion of  annual revenue across Engineering, Enterprise IT, cloud and analytics.

Genter joined SAIC in 2013 as the senior vice president and general manager of the Strategic Growth Markets customer group, which focused on growing market share with state local, and commercial customers.

Prior to joining SAIC, Genter held various leadership roles at CGI, ultimately serving as vice president of Consulting Services, Commercial Markets, where he was responsible for IT, business process outsourcing, software development and global delivery.

Before his tenure at CGI, Genter held several finance and operations roles at American Management Systems.

Genter has been recognized as an Executive Mosaic Wash100 Award winner (2023), Federal Computer Week Fed100 (2022) and recipient of the WashingtonExec Top  25/35 Executives to Watch (2023 and 2021). 

Genter earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Michael’s College in Vermont and his MBA in finance and strategy from the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business, and he completed the Executive Education, General Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Genter currently serves on the board of directors for the Northern Virginia Technology Council.
