Solutions Architect Director / SAIC Fellow
Chris Powell is a solutions architect director and an SAIC Fellow within the company's National Security and Space Sector.
Powell has spent 20 years with SAIC, serving customers in defense, national security, law enforcement, justice, homeland security, finance, healthcare, and science and technology. Powell focuses on the areas of high-performance computing and analytics. As a solutions architect director, Powell brings together system elements for enterprise integration in the areas of AI, analytics, data science, high-performance computing, edge computing, and end-user experience.
Powell has taught at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire College of Business. He is an INCOSE expert systems engineering professional (ESEP) and a senior member of IEEE, ACM, and ASQ, as well as a member of the American Philosophical Association and the Academy of Management.
Powell has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science from Clarkson University, an MBA in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and a doctorate degree in technology systems management from the University of Maryland.
In his free time, Powell plays the pipe organ, guitar, trombone, and piano and produces electronic music. He also writes poetry and develops Internet of Things solutions in his makerspace.
