Eric Smay is a systems engineer director within the Defense and Civilian Sector at SAIC. He has over 20 years of career experience in commercial and combat vehicle development and has been with SAIC since early 2018.

Smay delivers innovative solutions to the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army as the MRAP product line manager and innovation director, executing general combat vehicle science and technology subsystem research and development activities. His subject matter expertise is in advanced materials and manufacturing, system survivability, amphibious vehicle design and hybrid propulsion systems. Prior to SAIC, Smay worked for General Dynamic Land Systems, Fiat Chrysler, ArvinMeritor, Daimler Chrysler and Altair Engineering.

Smay holds an MBA from Lawrence Technological University, and a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Kettering University.
